Actor Refutes Anti-Vax Position After Lending His Voice To Disputed Coronavirus Feature

The acclaimed actor has lent his narration to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and lauds ex- government figure RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Foundation

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a popular book co-authored by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for allegations that Covid was linked to a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.

The publication's collaborator, a producer, has previously authored books with far-right radio host a known commentator. He recently posted celebrating Neeson's role in the film.

A Firm Statement

A spokesperson for Neeson have issued a comment pushing back against claims that he subscribes to anti-vaccine views.

"We all recognize that corruption may occur within the drug industry, but that must not be confused with rejection of vaccines," the statement explains. "Liam has never been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His long work with the global charity reinforces his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."

It noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's narrative and that questions about its assertions should be directed to the producers.

Major Themes Featured in the Documentary

According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several controversial points:

  • It suggests that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "research has become deeply influenced by politics."
  • Kennedy is interviewed stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • It further attacks Covid lockdowns, saying they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."

Historical Controversy and Current Debates

It further cites a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the focus of a correction by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, RFK Jr called on the national health agency to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the film, despite a new report from the WHO confirming no evidence has been found.

A Past Record of Advocacy

Contrasting the film's message, Neeson has in the past expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."

The film ends with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This is not the conclusion of our journey. This is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
