Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
The win also indicates he has won twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused some to question if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.
The opponent defended 4 early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
