The star midfielder Functioned in a high role out wide and contributed with defensive duties. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance and mishit an effort high. Replaced late on for a teammate, his rival, following a yellow card. 7

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s top opening before halftime, his effort excellently kept out from Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate hanging back, he was forced to offer an outlet out wide but his crosses from the touchline were inconsistent. Replaced late in the match. Six

The captain The match-winner with his 77th and 78th goals for his country. The first a classic close-range tap-in and the second a classy headed goal following a clever run away from the opposition. Now 32, he continues to improve with the national team are strong contenders next summer when he's in the team. 8
